Job summary

Meijer in West Chester, PA is seeking a Service Coordinator to lead front-end operations, supervise cashiers, and maintain high standards of service. You will coordinate checkout flow, coach staff, and ensure productivity and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include shift handoffs, shrink control, and participating in community programs while serving as a trainer for team members. Strong communication and organization are required.

Qualifications

• Completed the Service Coordinator training curriculum (Cashier, Service Desk, Courtesy Team)
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment
• Strong communication, customer-oriented, organized with attention to detail
• Has organizational and multi-tasking abilities
• Physical ability to perform lifting and movement tasks as needed

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoffs between shifts
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift handoffs when leadership is not present
• Coordinate actions involving shrink and financial outcomes; escalate concerns to leadership
• Champion participation in community programs and engage team members
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care
• On-the-job training and mentoring of team members
• Act as SME for market programs, pilots, and development training
• Assign tasks to team members and ensure completion

The Service Coordinator exists to ensure a high-quality customer shopping experience by leading and supporting front-end operations. This role coordinates checkout flow, maintains front-end cleanliness and standards, and assigns work for cashiers, service desk, and courtesy team members to meet productivity and service expectations. Through active coaching, labor utilization, and customer issue resolution, the Service Coordinator drives strong customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and accountability for front-end performance.

What You'll be Doing:

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present.
• Coordinate and drive actions and activities involving the monitoring and control of shrink and financial business outcomes within areas of responsibility. Proactively elevate concerns to leadership as they arise.
• Champion participation in community programs. Lead by example with behaviors and team member resource group (TMRG) engagement.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care.
• Perform on-the-job/hands-on team member training and mentoring.
• Serve as subject matter expert for market programs, company pilots, and development/training programs.
• Assign tasks to team members within the department, in partnership with the team leader, and follow up to ensure task completion.
