Job summary

Smart & Final in Torrance is hiring a Service Clerk to assist customers, maintain carts, check prices, and keep the store clean and organized. The role reports to store management and requires helping customers to their cars and restocking shelves as needed.

Starting rate is $18.50 per hour. Candidates should be able to lift up to 60 pounds and perform frequent customer-facing tasks in a fast-paced retail environment at 17500 Crenshaw Blvd, Torrance, CA 90504.

Qualifications

• Read and write English, interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and memos.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize shopping carts inside the store and in the parking area.
• Assist customers with loading merchandise and help to their vehicles.
• Check retail prices on shelves for check stand personnel.
• Return mispaced items to shelves and keep aisles clean and faced.
• Maintain cleanliness of store entrance and restrooms throughout the day.
