Job summary

Smart & Final, part of the Chedraui USA group, is hiring a Service Clerk for the 330 West Los Angeles location. The role focuses on assisting customers, maintaining carts, price checks, and restocking. The starting rate is $18.50 per hour, with opportunities to support store operations daily.

The candidate will lift items up to 60 pounds and interact with customers, ensuring a clean, organized shopping environment and smooth operation of the check stands.

Qualifications

• Read and write English; interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information clearly in one-on-one or small group settings to customers and staff.
• Follow detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize shopping carts within the store and retrieve carts from parking areas.
• Assist customers with loading merchandise into carts and into their vehicles.
• Check retail prices on shelves for check stand staff.
• Return merchandise to proper shelves and keep aisles organized.
• Maintain cleanliness at store entrance and throughout the day; sweep, mop, and handle trash.
• Ensure restrooms and common areas are clean and stocked as needed.
