Job summary

Smart & Final in Simi Valley is seeking a Service Clerk at 5135 Los Angeles Avenue. Starting rate is $16.90 per hour and the role focuses on helping customers, stocking shelves and maintaining carts.

As part of the Chedraui USA group, you will ensure a quick, friendly shopping experience, handle price checks and light merchandising, and keep the store clean. Physical lifting up to 60 pounds is required.

Qualifications

• Read and write English; interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers and employees.
• Regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize shopping carts inside the store and retrieve from the parking lot.
• Assist customers with loading merchandise into carts and into their vehicles.
• Check retail prices on shelf for check stand personnel.
• Return go-backs to the proper shelf; face merchandise and keep aisles tidy.
• Monitor cleanliness of store entrance; sweep and mop as needed and manage trash.
• Maintain general store cleanliness and restock restrooms as needed.
