Job summary

Columbus Motor Company is seeking an enthusiastic Service BDC Agent to join our team. We offer a benefits package including vacation, medical, dental, vision, and employee discounts.

We have an in-house Training team and promote from within in a family‑oriented environment. The BDC Agent will schedule service reservations and inform customers about their appointments, ensuring a positive experience and timely updates while parts orders are processed.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of customer service or call center experience preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Must speak and write English fluently; Spanish fluency is optional but beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming calls and makes outbound calls to schedule service appointments with service customers.
• Verify customer and vehicle information and service needs.
• Conduct 24-hour reminder call for all service appointments.
• Display thorough knowledge of dealership products and services.
• Contacts internet customers regarding service inquiries or scheduling requests.
• Complete call sheets to turn into Service Manager for feedback.
• Communicate with service advisors to keep customers informed about service status.
• All other duties as assigned.

The BDC Agent is responsible for scheduling service reservations and provide information to customers regarding their scheduled service. The primary focus of the job will be to contact service customers to ensure that their experience was exceptional and to provide feedback on those findings, stay abreast on the status on customer vehicles while they are waiting in the dealership, ensure that customers are contacted when their special order parts arrive. This job requires “people" skills and a genuine desire to service the customer. A positive attitude and willingness to be a team member are essential to this position.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or over in order to be covered by CMC/NMC’s Automobile Insurance.
• 1-2 years of previous call center or customer service experience preferred, but not required
• High School Diploma of GED preferred but not required
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Valid in-state driver's license.
• Professional personal appearance.
• Communication skills: Ability to collaborate, cooperate, interpret, communicate information that is not always straightforward.
• Computer: Ability to efficiently use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, and Intermediate Excel), manage files, navigate network, web and windows. Software: Ability to efficiently use in house software.
• Decision-making: Knowledge of and ability to identify and choose alternatives based on the values and preferences and to solve problems to arrive at a conclusion and decision.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative/team setting.
• Telephone Skills: Ability to respond to callers in a timely fashion using positive and professional demeanor and tone and refer callers to the appropriate resource.
• Must speak and write English fluently, Spanish fluency is optional but beneficial
• Must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
• Must be able to pass background checks and valid driver license.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and able to compute rate, ratio and percent.
• Ability to understand and define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
