Job summary

Ball Equipment is seeking a Service Writer/Advisor to bridge customers and technicians, ensuring accurate service experiences for powersports and lawn & garden equipment. You will greet customers, collect vehicle details, schedule appointments, and document concerns on repair orders.

You will work with technicians to ensure correct diagnoses, prepare estimates, and obtain approvals. The role includes cashiering, warranty coordination, and maintaining records in a collaborative shop environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in service writer/advisor or similar customer-facing role.
• Familiarity with powersports or lawn & garden equipment preferred.
• Experience with Lightspeed or CDK is a plus.
• Solid mechanical/technical concepts.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and gather vehicle/equipment information at check-in.
• Schedule service appointments and manage daily workflow.
• Document customer concerns and required services on repair orders.
• Communicate with technicians to ensure correct diagnosis and service.
• Prepare cost estimates and obtain customer authorizations for work.
• Close repair orders and explain repairs at pickup.
• Cashiering of customer payment for services rendered.
• Coordinate with Centralized Warranty Administrator to convey accurate coverage to customers.
• Maintain organized customer records and warranty documentation.
