Job summary

Vander Haag's, Inc. seeks a full-time Service Advisor/Assistant at our Kansas City, MO location to lead the service team and coordinate daily operations with the Service Department Leader. This role benefits from 3–5 years of diesel shop experience in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and capable of clear communication with technicians and customers to ensure timely, accurate service delivery and smooth workflow.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a diesel service shop environment.
• Self-motivated and organized with ability to coordinate with service staff and customers.

Responsibilities

• Directly coordinate with Service Technicians to ensure parts availability for work orders.
• Maintain a neat and organized shop and work area.
• Assist Service Department Manager by assigning work hours to technicians to meet customer needs.
• Manage work orders from start to finish.
• Communicate with customers about estimates, repairs, updates and payment methods.
• Coordinate with Parts Department to ensure proper invoicing of parts.
• Assist with end-of-month checklists and reports.

Vander Haag's, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a full time, leadership role as aService Advisor/Assistant at our Kansas City, MO location!

The right individual must be self motivated, organized, and be able to work with a wide range of internal and external customers. This position will work closely with our Service Department Leader to direct and coordinate the day-to-day operations of our Service Department. 3 - 5 year’s experience working in a diesel service shop environment is preferred.

Regular duties for this position include:

• Communicating directly with Service Technicians to ensure parts availability for assigned work orders.
• Maintaining a neat and organized shop and work area.
• Assisting the Service Department Manager by assigning work hours to Service Technicians to meet customer needs and maximize efficiency.
• Managing the process of work orders from start to finish.
• Communicating directly with the customer regarding estimates, repair authorizations, repair updates, and method of payment for invoices.
• Working closely with the Parts Department to ensure parts are recorded and invoiced appropriately.
• Assist with all end of month checklists and reports.

Hours: Day shift hours, Monday through Friday. Hours are generally 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. No evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call hours required!

Compensation: Compensation dependent upon experience level and qualifications. This position will also be eligible for an efficiency bonus based on the performance of the service/fabrication shop. Bonus is paid each month.
