Vander Haag’s has a great opportunity for an experienced Diesel Service Technician (Diesel Engine Specialist) to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa.

This position requires 3–5 years of previous experience with diesel engine diagnostics and repair/reinstallation. Qualified candidates should have a broad range of experience with various diesel engine manufacturers including Detroit, Cat, and Cummins. Certifications for specific engine manufacturers are not required. ASE Certification is preferred but not required.

At Vander Haag’s, no two days are exactly the same. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of heavy-duty truck makes and models! General duties include:

• All types of medium and heavy-duty truck repair
• Engine diagnostics and overhauls
• Drivetrain
• Electrical systems

Hours: Day shift, four days per week! Schedule can be set for Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required!

Compensation: This position offers hourly base pay plus overtime. The hourly rate typically ranges from $25.00 to $42.00/hour for qualified candidates, depending on experience and certifications (e.g., ASE Certifications).

Tools: Vander Haag’s offers flexible arrangements to assist with the purchase of additional tools if necessary. We also sell Milwaukee power tools at our store locations!
