Job summary

Cook Ford in Texas City is seeking a Service Advisor to greet customers, collect vehicle information, report symptoms, and prepare accurate cost estimates for labor and parts. You will collaborate with Service Technicians to understand diagnoses and keep customers updated on progress throughout the day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a service department is preferred.
• Experience handling customer interactions and estimates is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to learn new technology and repair/service procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly
• Obtain customer and vehicle information
• Clearly report all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer
• Determine and recommend maintenance based on age, mileage and history of vehicle
• Work with Service Technicians to understand the diagnosis and repair for each vehicle
• Prepare a complete and accurate estimate of cost for labor and parts
• Monitor the progress of each vehicle throughout the day, and update customers frequently
• Verify that the final invoice reconciles with the work performed on the repair order
• Explain all completed work and charges to customers

• Past experience as a service advisor, assistant lane manager or service consultant
