What You’ll Do
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, creating a welcoming and confident first impression
- Build relationships with customers and establish trust throughout the service experience
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and ask questions to accurately understand vehicle symptoms and service needs
- Obtain and document detailed customer and vehicle information
- Inspect and evaluate customer concerns and communicate findings to the appropriate service team members
- Clearly explain recommended maintenance and repairs, including the why, what, and cost of the work
- Present recommendations confidently and help customers make informed decisions about their vehicle
- Identify additional maintenance and repair opportunities based on the vehicle's condition, manufacturer recommendations, and customer needs
- Prepare accurate repair orders, estimates, and supporting documentation
- Establish clear expectations for timing, communication, and completion
- Keep customers informed throughout the service process and proactively communicate changes or delays
- Monitor vehicles through the service pipeline and follow up with technicians and other team members to keep repairs moving
- Prioritize and clearly communicate customer concerns and repair needs to technicians
- Coordinate with technicians, parts, dispatch, and management to support an efficient workflow
- Review completed repairs and recommendations with customers in a clear and professional manner
- Explain work performed, answer questions, and confidently communicate additional recommendations
- Follow up with customers after service to ensure concerns were addressed and identify future service needs
- Maintain accurate customer, vehicle, repair, and communication records
- Follow dealership, manufacturer, warranty, safety, and service department policies and procedures

Requirements
- Previous automotive service advisor or related automotive customer-service experience preferred
- Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to understand and communicate automotive maintenance and repair needs
- Ability to confidently present recommendations and explain associated costs
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to work effectively with technicians and other dealership departments
- Ability to use dealership technology, repair-order systems, and other computer-based tools
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to work a dealership service schedule, including Saturdays as required
- Must successfully complete applicable background and drug screening requirements
