Job summary

Young Mazda Idaho Falls is seeking a skilled Service Advisor/Service Writer to join our team. You will act as the liaison between customers and our service technicians, communicating clearly and delivering outstanding service throughout the repair process.

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, obtaining data, writing up vehicle problems, providing written cost estimates, updating customers on progress, and explaining costs and timelines.

Qualifications

• Two years related experience and/or training required.
• History of solid and successful employment with good references.
• Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Prior sales experience helpful.
• Clean driving record.
• Able to pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Schedules service appointments and obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival.
• Writes up customer’s vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair orders.
• Advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications.
• Refers to service history.
• Inspects vehicle and recommends additional needed service.
• Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
• Checks on progress of repair and communicates changes to customers.
• Explains cost and time requirements in detail and gets authorization before additional repairs.
• Keeps service department forms, menus and pricing guides up-to-date.
• Explains completed work and all charges to customers.
• Implements a quality control process to eliminate comebacks.
• Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
