Job summary

Bob Thomas Dealerships is seeking Service Advisors to greet customers, document concerns, and guide service options. You will collaborate with technicians by relaying customer needs and keeping them informed on timelines and costs.

A positive, relationship-building approach is essential. The role benefits from experience in customer-facing sales within an automotive service environment, plus required certifications and a reliable transportation setup.

Qualifications

• Smart, energetic personality and hard-working.
• Prior experience working with customers and providing an exceptional experience.
• Sales experience in inside, outside, or retail roles is a plus.
• Knowledge of automotive service departments.
• Have or be able to acquire the required certifications.
• Basic MS Office knowledge; computer software and internet proficiency.
• Dependable with a reliable source of transportation.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist them with inquiries.
• Perform vehicle walk around and document customer concerns for diagnosis.
• Consult with customer on service specials and prioritize services.
• Provide options and document declines; follow up on future considerations.
• Keep customer informed on completion times, expenses, and changes.
• Deliver vehicle to customer and address any concerns.
• Provide concierge support for owner inquiries and ensure positive experience.
• Build relationships with customers during visits.
• Know the product well enough to answer questions about their vehicle.

Service Advisors

• Greet customers and assist them with any inquiries they may have
• Perform vehicle walk around and documentation of customer concerns to enable the technician to properly diagnose and service the vehicle.
• Consult with customer on applicable service specials.
• Prioritize required services, and be prepared to provide options upon request.
• Document declines for services and ask for follow-up on future service considerations
• Keep customer informed on completion times, service expenses, and possible changes.
• Remain involved with delivery of vehicle to customer upon completion to assure all customer concerns can be addressed.
• Provide concierge support for all owner inquiries, whether phone or in person, to assure the customer does not get mishandled.
• Spend quality time building relationship with the customer.
• Know the product well enough to answer characteristic and operational questions regarding the customer’s vehicle.
