Job summary

Bob Brown Buick GMC is seeking a Service Advisor in Ankeny, IA to coordinate vehicle servicing, promote parts and accessories, and drive customer satisfaction in a team-driven, state‑of‑the‑art shop.

You will report to the Service Manager and handle appointments, repair orders, quotes, and invoices while logging issues for technicians and ensuring timely, quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a service advisor or service writer required.
• Candidates must have above-average phone and communication skills.
• Positive, upbeat attitude and ability to advise clients on vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Excellent follow-up and follow-through to ensure client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Make appointments, process repair orders, quotes and invoices.
• Provide customer support via phone and in-person at the dealership.
• Qualify customer problems and log them for technicians.
• Obtain customer approval for remedial work.
• Promote parts and accessories.
• Coordinate service work internally to meet commitments.
• Estimate costs and timelines and maintain customer contact for delivery.

Compensation

• This position pays a semi-monthly draw and a commission of sales. Successful candidates can expect $70,000 - $100,000 annually.

Responsibilities

• Making appointments, processing repair orders, quotes and invoices
• Providing customer support via phone and face-to-face at the dealership
• Qualifying customer problems and logging them for technicians to review
• Ensuring customer approval for all remedial work to be carried out
• Promoting our range of vehicle parts and accessories
• Internal coordination of service work to adhere to commitments made to customers
• Estimating costs and time for work to be carried out, and maintaining customer contact to ensure smooth delivery of vehicle

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a service advisor or service writer required
• Candidates MUST possess above-average phone and communication skills
• Must bring a positive, upbeat attitude to this role be completely comfortable advising clients on vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills to ensure client satisfaction
• Ability to evolve and adapt to changing business needs
• Prior GM Experience not required but a plus
• Prior CDK Experience a plus
• A proven Advisor Background in ExcellentCSI a plus
