Job summary

United Mechanical, a leading commercial HVAC and plumbing contractor in Northern California, seeks a Service Account Representative to support its Service Sales team in San Jose. You'll work with Account Managers to prepare proposals, coordinate requests, and manage sales activity from proposal to project completion.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in inside sales or project coordination in a commercial/industrial service environment.
• Experience in commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related building trades preferred.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills with a positive customer experience focus.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Comfort learning and navigating multiple software platforms, including CRM and proposal management.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple Account Managers with sales activities, customer accounts, and service-related deliverables.
• Prepare and process estimates, proposals, and approved sales orders for planned maintenance agreements, repairs, and equipment replacements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Track proposals, sales opportunities, and customer activity in our CRM system.
• Coordinate with Service Operations to facilitate purchasing, subcontractor agreements, scheduling, and timely delivery of customer commitments.
• Prepare equipment and product submittals for customer review and approval.
• Monitor sales order progress and collaborate with internal teams to support accurate, timely invoicing.
• Assist with customer account follow-up and accounts receivable collection as needed.

We’re looking for a motivated, customer-focused Service Account Representative to join our growing Service Sales team in San Jose!

In this role, you’ll work closely with our Account Managers and Service Operations team to support maintenance, repair, and equipment replacement sales for commercial and industrial customers. You’ll play an important role in preparing proposals, coordinating customer requests, managing sales activity, and ensuring a seamless customer experience from proposal through project completion.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in inside sales, sales support, or project coordination within a commercial or industrial service environment.
• Experience in commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical contracting, or a related building trade preferred.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to delivering a positive customer experience.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Comfort learning and navigating multiple software platforms, including CRM, estimating, proposal management, and service management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Compensation

$43.27 - $48.08 per hour
