POSITION SUMMARYThe purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining at the resort. Restaurant Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guests' needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. Servers are expected to have some basic cooking knowledge.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:Prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.Protects the establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.Helps patrons select food and beverages by presenting the menu; offering cocktails and aperitifs; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions.Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests.Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars.Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process.Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting patrons to return.Obtains member settlement by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to host person; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.Understanding and acknowledge all Heritage Bay Golf & Country Club's policies and procedures.Able to work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail; ability to multi-task.Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager, Lead Captain, or Bar Manager, including opening and closing duties.Professional presentation, a well-groomed appearance, and wearing the proper uniform are essential parts of the job responsibilities.Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.Will be expected, and relied upon, to cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, shift work, working outdoors, working with challenging clients, holiday’s, long late, and early start times.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Licenses and Special RequirementsFood safety certification.Of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.Alcoholic beverage certification.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
