Job summary

The Courtyard Norfolk Downtown is seeking a friendly Server to deliver prompt, accurate food and beverage service to guests at 520 E. Plume Street, Norfolk, VA. You will take orders, serve items, and handle payments with a smile, ensuring a positive dining experience.

The role requires a flexible schedule including days, nights, holidays, and weekends, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn. Teamwork, cleanliness, and excellent guest service are core to success at MCR’s Courtyard hotel.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or service preferred.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
• Provide friendly service with a smile.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and describe food and beverage options.
• Deliver hot, on-time items from kitchen to tables.
• Input orders and process payments (POS).
• Prepare coffee and other specialty drinks.
• Clear, clean and reset tables for dining as needed.
• Observe diners and respond to requests.
• Complete daily inventory prep and other side work.
• Know current menu and offerings.
• Escort guests to tables as needed.
• Ensure compliance with food safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of restaurant and surrounding areas.
• Demonstrate knowledge of hotel hours and amenities.
