Job summary

COMMONWEALTH LODGING MANAGEMENT LLC's Marriott Norfolk Waterside in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Restaurant Server to be the primary contact for guests in the dining area, delivering prompt, friendly service from arrival to departure.

You will upsell items, process payments, maintain cleanliness, and uphold health and safety standards while interacting with guests and team members. Must be able to stand for long periods and work flexible evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED (or Work Equivalent).
• 1-2 years of experience in food service preferred.
• Alcohol awareness certification or training preferred.
• Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Good English language understanding and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests in a welcoming manner.
• Upsell menu items when appropriate to enhance guest experience.
• Take orders accurately and communicate with kitchen and bar staff.
• Process payments and deliver checks to guests.
• Maintain a clean, organized dining area and assist in bussing tables.
• Adhere to health, safety, and departmental policies.
