Job summary

The Club at Carlton Woods in the United States (The Woodlands, TX) is seeking a Server/Waiter to greet and serve members and guests, provide detailed menu information, and multi‑task front‑of‑the‑house duties.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in full‑service restaurants, current food handler and alcohol service certifications, and excellent customer service skills. A friendly, proactive approach and knowledge of wine will help deliver top‑notch service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of serving or related experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Have a current food handler’s card and alcohol service certification as required by federal/state/local law.
• Meet minimum age for preparing and serving alcoholic beverages.

Responsibilities

• Take food and drink orders from members/guest accurately and with a positive attitude.
• Engage with members/guest in a friendly manner.
• Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions.
• Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
• Help members/guest select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions
• Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
• Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
• Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
• Basic understanding of beer, wine, spirits, and sake preferred.
• Where applicable, holds a state and/or local food handlers card.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Ability to work long hours, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
• Ability to remain on feet the majority of the workday.

Education and Experience

• Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred.
