Job summary

Legends Global managed facility at Jekyll Island Convention Center has an immediate opening for part-time banquet servers. This position provides high quality catering service for banquets and reports to the F&B Manager and/or Banquet Manager.

The role requires 18+ years, reliable transportation, flexible hours, and strong customer service and communication skills. Duties include equipment setup, garnishes and beverages, table settings, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and assisting

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting all banquet equipment to include flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event
• Prepares garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads
• Clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc.
• Assist with preparation and set-up of event room when necessary
• Prepare tables with place settings as instructed
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the standard drink recipes
• Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
• Establish and maintain positive client relationships
• Breakdown tables and banquet equipment after each event
• Clean and return serving pieces to proper storage area
• Performs cash handling and/or cashiering functions based on demand
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• Daily lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. Up to 10 minutes at a time.
• Constant reaching, standing, walking and stooping
• Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination
• Must be able to balance and have good manual dexterity
• Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
