Job summary

Columbia Hospitality, Inc. in Montana is seeking a server to deliver exceptional dining experiences. You will take orders, upsell menu items, and ensure guests leave with a memorable experience.

You will operate the POS system, stay knowledgeable about the menu and wine selections, and comply with liquor laws and safety standards. This hourly role offers benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as server in a similar restaurant environment.
• Ability to operate the computerized POS system.
• Knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures.
• Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations.
• State Food Handler’s License and liquor permits.

Responsibilities

• Takes orders and serves food and beverage items to guests.
• Enters orders into POS and communicates special requests to the kitchen.
• Assembles food items such as appetizers, salads and soups.
• Ensures attractive presentation and correct temperatures of items.
• Maintains knowledge of menu changes and sold-out items.
• Processes guest payments with proper cash handling.
• Keeps dining area clean and organized.

What Success Looks Like:

Your Impact

• Takes orders and serves food and beverage items to guests in accordance with established standards
• Enters orders into computerized Point of Sale system and communicates any special requests to the culinary team
• Assembles food items, such as appetizers, salads and soups
• Ensures attractive, consistent presentation of food and beverages. Ensures that all food and beverage items are served at the correct temperature
• Maintains current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items
• Processes guest payments, using proper accounting and cash handling procedures
• Keeps work area, including guest dining area, clean and organized

What You Bring

• Previous experience as server in a similar restaurant environment
• Ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale system
• Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures
• Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations
• Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s)
