Qualifications

• Minimum hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing servers.

• Ability to conduct server stress tests and document results.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and diagnose server systems to identify hardware failures.
• Replace defective components (boards, power supplies, memory, CPUs, cables, etc.).
• Conduct server stress tests to validate repairs.
• Document symptoms, test results, and parts replaced using shop-floor tools.
• Collaborate with motherboard repair, testing, QC, and inspections.
• Maintain and track parts consumption.
• Provide backup support for QC and motherboard testing.
• Follow operational processes for system and parts management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Server Repair Tech 2 (JN -072026-427443) Santa Clara, California

Salary: USD30 - USD35 per hour

Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Server Repair Technician Level 2 for our client in Santa Clara. This is a 100% onsite, temp to perm role with a starting pay of $31 to $33 an hour based on experience.

The Server Repair Technician Level 2 is responsible for diagnosing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing servers and server components received for evaluation. This role requires strong technical skills in server hardware, diagnostics, and component-level replacement. Technicians collaborate closely with motherboard repair, testing, quality control, and inspection teams to ensure repaired units meet quality and performance standards.

This role is 100% working on HARDWARE. This is NOT a software role and candidates coming from a software background will not be considered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other Duties not listed may be assigned.

Daily Responsibilities – ~90%

• Inspect, test, and diagnose server systems to identify hardware failures and error conditions.
• Replace defective components (boards, power supplies, memory, CPUs, cables, etc.) as needed.
• Conduct and analyze server stress tests to validate repairs.
• Document symptoms, test results, and parts replaced using the company’s shop-floor tools.
• Collaborate with supporting teams including motherboard repair, motherboard testing, QC, and inspections.
• Maintain and track parts consumption.
• Provide backup support for QC, inspection, and motherboard testing as required.
• Follow all operational processes for system and parts management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
