Job summary

Tahoe Mountain Club seeks a friendly and experienced server to provide excellent customer service to members and guests. You will work with the Club Manager and kitchen staff to ensure accurate, timely delivery of food and beverages.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking orders, serving with etiquette, bussing and resetting tables, and following club policies. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a food service or hospitality role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Arrives to work in uniform and ready to work on the floor by the time scheduled.
  • Greets members and guests in a friendly and welcoming manner and maintains a warm and friendly interactive service atmosphere.
  • Provides excellent customer service and addresses member/guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Takes orders directly from guests for food and beverages and serves using proper etiquette.
  • Services food in the proper sequence according to etiquette and order of course.
  • Greet guests by name whenever possible.
  • Pre-busses, buses, and resets tables.
  • Reports to and receives instruction from the supervisor regarding daily events, section map, daily cleaning assignments, etc.
  • Knows regular menu and special menu items, descriptions, and pricing for the day.
  • Performs all side work and set up duties for each meal period.
  • Assists with setup and cleanup of special events and functions.
  • Follows all club policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  • Reports any complaints or problems directly to the service manager or director.
  • Maintains adequate change or bank at the beginning of each shift.
  • Balances own sales report and assigned cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Prepares sales envelope with daily sales at end of day, turns it into the reporting manager.

Duties

Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club’s operation, each employee may be required to perform a multitude of different functions. Employees are expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help them. Accordingly, they may be expected to perform other tasks not specifically addressed above.

Qualifications
Education / Experience

Minimum of 1 year experience in a food service or hospitality role. High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and multitask effectively. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Language / Communication

Ability to read and speak English is required to perform the duties of the job (e.g., the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co‑workers, and the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English). Must be able to work as part of a team and maintain open communication with managers and fellow coworkers. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests or members of the community. Must display a professional demeanor and communicate in professional language at all times.

Certificates / Licenses / Safety Training

State accredited Alcohol Training through RBS, SERVsafe Certification, Harassment Prevention Training, Workplace Violence Prevention, Heat Illness Prevention and all other required onboarding checklists, orientations, and policy acknowledgements must be completed within the first 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements of the Job
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
