Tahoe Mountain Club in Truckee, CA is seeking a dedicated Food Runner to assist in providing excellent service to members and guests. This role involves performing various tasks from bussing tables to expediting food while maintaining a friendly and interactive service atmosphere.
The ideal candidate should be able to communicate effectively in English and have a teamwork-oriented mindset. Previous restaurant experience is preferred, and various safety certifications must be completed within the first month of employment.

The Food Runner assists the front of the house and the back of the house staff in providing excellent service to members and guest by performing side work ranging from polishing glasses and silverware to folding napkins as well as bussing tables and expediting food from the kitchen.
Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club’s operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks, not specifically addressed above.
Restaurant Supervisor, Restaurant Manager, Director of Food & Beverage. May also report to Manager on Duty or other managers during special events.
No supervisory duties are required of this position.
Education/Experience: Previous restaurant experience preferred, not required.
Language/Communication: Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the Crew Members may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co‑workers, the manuals for the equipment the Crew Members may use are in English). Must be able to work as part of a team and maintain open communication with managers and fellow coworker. Must display professional demeanor and always communicate in professional language.
Certificates/Licenses: SERVsafe Certification, Harassment Prevention Training, Workplace Violence Prevention, Heat Illness Prevention and all other required onboarding checklists, orientations, and policy acknowledgements must be completed within first 30 days of hire. State Accredited Alcohol Training Certification not required, but must be at least 18 years of age to satisfy regulatory agency’s requirements.
