Job summary

Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea, Maui, is seeking a Lobby Lounge Server (Pilina) to deliver inspired food and beverage experiences. You will connect guests with our island-inspired menu and provide attentive, aloha-style service, creating memorable moments.

The hourly rate is $16.00. The role requires at least two years of high-volume restaurant serving experience, knowledge of fine dining, and the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or equivalent) is required.
• Minimum two (2) years serving experience in a high volume restaurant is required, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
• Previous fine dining experience and wine knowledge is an asset.
• Previous experience in a 4 diamond hotel environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Confirm station assignment.
• Complete daily opening checklist and duties assigned.
• Follow Fairmont Kea Lani sequence of service from welcome to reset.
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
• Bring passion towards the guest experience and actively engage with guests.
• Actively participate in monthly departmental sales promotions.
• Adhere to Hawaii DOH & EHC food handling safety standards.
• Organize time so all side work is completed according to shift demand.
• Maintain atmosphere of aloha spirit with personalized, timely, and efficient service.

Job Description

Providing Inspired Food & Beverage to highlight the destination we represent is one of our passions. As a Server in our lobby lounge, Pilina, you will be a hospitality ambassador that will connect our guests to the delectable cuisine inspired by our diverse culture and island home. Your detailed knowledge, colorful descriptions of our offerings and impeccable service will help us showcase our passion and accomplish our mission of turning moments into memories.

Hourly Rate: $16.00

What you will be doing:

• Confirm station assignment
• Complete daily opening checklist and duties assigned
• Follow Fairmont Kea Lani sequence of service which will include but not limited to the following: welcome guest, introduce venue with approved verbiage, set table with glassware, take beverage order, pour water/juice/coffee, take food order, punch in order to POS, pick up drinks and deliver, set table, pick up food, deliver food, maintain table adhering to sanitation guidelines, bus tables, present check, and reset the table ready for the next guest.
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
• Bring passion towards the guest experience and actively look for ways to emotionally engage with our guests.

• Actively participate in monthly departmental sales promotions.
• Adhere to the State of Hawaii Department of Health & EHC food handling safety standards
• Organize time so all side work is completed according to shift demand
• Maintain atmosphere of aloha spirit by providing engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service to our discerning guests

Schedule:

Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.

Qualifications

Education

• High School diploma (or equivalent) and/or vocational training

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years serving experience in a high volume restaurant is required, preferably in a luxury hotel environment
• Previous fine dining experience and wine knowledge is an asset.
• Previous experience in a 4 diamond hotel environment is an asset.

Licenses or Certificates (must be provided within 48 hours of an employment offer)

• TB Clearance
• Maui County Liquor Card
• Food Safety Certification or ServSafe Certification
