Job summary

Biltmore Farms in Asheville, NC is seeking a friendly, guest-focused Server to join our Vanderbilt hospitality team. You will guide guests through their experience, greet and seat, and ensure a warm, inviting atmosphere with a smile.

The role requires knowledge of food and beverage service, the ability to lift trays, and strong communication. PM shifts on Wednesdays and Saturdays are required, with available holiday coverage and tips-based earnings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years in the Food Service Industry is a plus; one year in a hotel setting preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; be flexible and willing to work wherever needed.
• Ability to lift and carry trays; stand for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professionalism and teamwork per service standards.
• Create a warm atmosphere when interacting with guests to ensure a positive experience.
• Guide guests through all phases of the restaurant experience from greeting to serving.
• Familiarize yourself with menus, ingredients, presentation and service standards.
• Complete duties as directed by Restaurant Management; train for banquet service as needed.
• Maintain a can-do, upbeat attitude while delivering exceptional service.
• Be proactive to anticipate guest needs and resolve issues quickly.
• Be available for PM shifts and holidays.

As a Fork Lore Server, you will

• Maintain the highest degree of professionalism and teamwork as per standards of service
• Create a warm, inviting atmosphere when interacting with guests and assist in ensuring that the guest has a positive experience
• Guide guests through all phases of their Biltmore Farms restaurant experience from greeting and seating to servicing with a smile
• Familiarize yourself with menus, ingredients, presentation and proper food service standards
• Complete all duties and procedures as put forth by our Restaurant Management Team
• Train in restaurant, as well as banquet-style service
• Have a "can-do", pleasant and upbeat attitude while providing exceptional service to our guests
• Be proactive and anticipate guest needs and resolve issues quickly
• Be available for PM Shift and holidays

Essential Elements

The skills of a Restaurant Server are as diverse as our customers. Many of our guest celebrations and vacations align with weekends and holidays, so our Restaurant Servers must be ready to thrive during these times. Good communication and working knowledge of the food and beverage industry including ability to lift and carry trays are must-haves.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. At least two years of experience in the Food Service Industry is a plus. At least one year in a hotel setting is preferred. Have a working knowledge of food and wine. Have good communication and interpersonal skills; be flexible and willing to work wherever needed.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. on a tray or arm service where it applies. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and be able to walk, stoop and bend frequently.
