Job summary

Biltmore Farms, LLC in Asheville, North Carolina is looking for a Steward / Dishwasher to maintain the kitchen cleanliness and uphold service standards. You will be responsible for washing dishes, maintaining sanitation procedures, and supporting the kitchen team.

The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma and ideally some experience in the Food Service industry, along with a positive attitude and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in the Food Service Industry or a Hotel Kitchen is a plus.
• Capable of keeping work area organized and maintaining a safe and clean working area.
• Able to lift and carry equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Wash plates, glassware, silverware, pots/pans and kitchen utensils according to sanitation procedures.
• Ensure dishes are sanitized and available as needed.
• Maintain daily cleanliness and maintenance of dish machine.
• Keep dish areas clean and sanitized.

As a Steward / Dishwasher, you will

• Maintain the highest degree of professionalism and teamwork as per standards of service.
• Wash plates, glassware, silverware, pots/pans and kitchen utensils according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Ensure dishes are sanitized and available as needed.
• Keep sanitation solution up to code and company standards at all times.
• Place clean plates, glassware, silverware and pot/pans in specified shelves according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Set up dish machine in the AM and/or shut down machine in the PM according to company procedures.
• Maintain daily cleanliness and maintenance of dish machine.
• Keep dish areas clean and sanitized by sweeping, mopping floors, wiping countertops, and emptying trash.
• Complete all duties and procedures as put forth by our Kitchen Management Team.
• Have a "can‑do", pleasant and upbeat attitude while providing support to the Kitchen Team.
• Be available for PM shifts and work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.

Essential Elements

Good communication and working knowledge of the Food & Beverage and Culinary industry. Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies are must‑haves. Capable of keeping work area organized and maintaining a safe and clean working area.

Education & Experience

Must have a High School Diploma or GED. At least one year of experience in the Food Service Industry or a Hotel Kitchen is a plus. Have good communication and interpersonal skills; be flexible and willing to work wherever needed.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift and carry at least 35 lbs. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and be able to walk, stoop and bend frequently. Able to use cleaning solvents and detergents on a regular basis. Must be able to frequently immerse hands in water and work in a hot and damp environment.
