Job summary

Max Burger, located in West Hartford, CT, seeks a Host with open availability to join our lively restaurant team. You will deliver outstanding guest service, help create a welcoming atmosphere, and support a fast-paced dining environment.

We value hospitality, teamwork, and a friendly personality. Qualifications include 2+ years in serving and leadership, plus TIPS/ServSafe certification within 90 days. Competitive benefits and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• At least two years of Serving and lead server role within a restaurant.
• One year of supervisory or management skill.
• Detail oriented, ability to be organized and proven ability to manage a staff.
• TIPS and ServSafe certifications are required and must be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Personal integrity and credibility is a must.
• Knowledge of OpenTable is preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of the POS and labor program and 7Shifts program, coordinated with Toast.
• Daily entry and price checking of invoices.
• Accurate sales reporting of all products in the POS and inventory.
• Maintain the restaurant’s zero tolerance to variances.
• Review company mission and handbook with new hires.
• Ensure new employee files are correctly filled and entered into Toast/CrunchTime.
• Post new hire welcome announcements.
• Monitor OpenTable and reservations daily.
• Coordinate events with the event coordinator for private dining room usage.

Qualifications: What We’re Looking For:

Experience:

• At least two years of Serving and lead server role within restaurant establishment.
• One year of supervisory or management skill
• Detail oriented, ability to be organized and proven ability to manage a staff effectively
• TIPS and ServSafe certifications are required and must be completed within 90 days of hire
• Personal qualities of integrity and credibility is a must
• Knowledge of Open Table is preferred not required

Skills & Qualities:

• Knowledge, management and promotion of all products and services of the restaurant
• On-going product knowledge and the development of the knowledge of the employees of the restaurant
• Full utilization of all products purchased for service
• Continual, responsible procurement and supply of products required to maintain continuity of the highest level of service
• Fiscally responsible management of inventory and labor assets
• Fully enlisted support and enthusiasm of the sales staff

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of the POS and labor program and 7Shifts program. This includes organization of the current database coordinated with the listings in Toast.
• Daily entry and price checking of invoices.
• Accurate sales reporting of all products in the POS which means that all products in the restaurant inventory must be listed and available to the sales staff
• Maintaining the restaurant’s zero tolerance to variances.
• Review Max Mission Statement and handbook with new hires.
• Ensure all new employee files and paperwork are filled out correctly and information is entered into Toast/CrunchTime.
• Post new hire “Welcome Announcement”
• Monitor OpenTable
• Monitor reservations daily to make sure that all information is being entered onto the reservation sheets correctly.
• Coordinate events with the event coordinator to ensure that space is being blocked off when the private dining room is being used.
