Job summary

Adecco US, Inc. is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer in San Jose, CA to investigate customer returns and field failures across server and PCBA-level products.

You will perform root cause analysis and work with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions. The role requires 2–3 years of hands-on PCB experience, proficiency with lab equipment, and a strong hardware troubleshooting mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience working with PCBs
• Experience troubleshooting hardware at system, board, or component level
• Knowledge of Linux environments and hardware debugging techniques
• Experience with Python or SQL is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware failure analysis on server and PCBA-level products
• Troubleshoot complex electrical systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs
• Conduct root cause investigations for customer-returned and field-failure products
• Analyze schematics, board layouts, and assembly drawings
• Support RMA investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve hardware issues
• Develop troubleshooting methodologies, test tools, and technical documentation
