Job summary

Carolina Reserve of Durham seeks a dedicated Server to prepare and serve meals in a welcoming dining environment for residents. You will help ensure high-quality service and a positive dining experience, working with a team to create nutritious, appealing meals.

The schedule includes a full-time 1pm–7pm shift and every other weekend 6am–6pm, with opportunities for growth. Requirements include at least 6 months of assisted living food‑service experience, current ServSafe (or willingness to

Qualifications

• Assisted living experience with food preparation and menu items preferred (6+ months).
• ServSafe certificate current or willing to train to become certified.
• HS diploma or GED accepted.
• Must be 16+ in NC (18+ for operating power-driven machines).
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and promote a positive dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare appetizing foods with appealing presentation.
• Follow safety and sanitary requirements.
• Learn and perform basic tasks per written/verbal instructions.
• Provide pleasant, friendly, and timely service to residents.
• Follow dress requirements and maintain good grooming.

Requirements

• At least 6 months in assisted living experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets preferred
• Maintains a current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified
• High School diploma or GED accepted
• Must be 16 years or older. In NC, must be 18 years or older if operating power-driven machines such as a meat slicer, mixer, etc
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment
