Job summary

CSAT Solutions LP is seeking a Failure Analysis Technician to investigate failures in AI server assemblies and related components. You will review symptoms, repair history and diagnostics to guide troubleshooting, perform visual inspections, and support failure reproduction and isolation with engineering, following established procedures.

Responsibilities include running diagnostics, collecting logs, and using approved methods to identify failing components.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Linux/Ubuntu environments required.
• Familiarity with BIOS configuration, driver installation and software configuration required.
• Familiarity with installing approved BIOS and firmware updates according to documented procedures.
• Ability to read basic Bash scripts and identify potential test execution issues required.
• Email and written communication skills with basic Excel knowledge.
• Proficient English abilities required.
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
• Ability to follow documented procedures and policies.

• Performs visual inspections for damage, contamination and connector defects.
• Supports failure reproduction and isolation by following server test sequences and prerequisites.
• Runs approved diagnostics, collects logs, error codes, and system information to reproduce failures.
• Troubleshoots BIOS, driver, firmware, and software configuration issues per procedures.
• Reviews diagnostic logs to identify test execution issues and escalates unresolved problems.
• Installs approved drivers and BIOS/firmware updates per procedures.
• Uses approved methods to identify failing assemblies or components.
• Performs basic electrical measurements using multimeters under engineering direction.
• Documents findings, measurements and photos in tracking systems.
• Provides findings to repair/test teams and escalates unusual failures.
• Assists engineers with identifying failure trends and validating corrective actions.
• Maintains test fixtures and workstations following safety and ISO 9001 requirements.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of a Failure Analysis Technician.

Role and Responsibilities

• Supports engineers with investigating failures in AI server assemblies, circuit boards and related components.
• Reviews reported symptoms, repair history and diagnostic results to establish the initial troubleshooting approach.
• Performs visual inspections to identify physical damage, contamination, connector defects and other abnormal conditions.
• Understands server test sequences, prerequisites and expected results to support failure reproduction and isolation.
• Runs approved diagnostics, collects test logs, error codes and system information, and reviews test results to reproduce failures and isolate the affected hardware or configuration.
• Troubleshoots basic BIOS, driver, firmware and software configuration issues using documented procedures.
• Reviews basic Bash scripts to identify test execution issues during failure analysis and reports unresolved problems to engineers.
• Installs approved drivers and BIOS/firmware updates according to documented procedures.
• Uses approved component substitution and isolation methods to identify failing assemblies or components.
• Performs basic electrical measurements using digital multimeters and other approved equipment under engineering direction.
• Uses diagnostics, logs and controlled testing to reproduce reported failures, investigate intermittent or repeat failures, and isolate the affected hardware or configuration.
• Documents findings, measurements, photographs and diagnostic evidence in the appropriate tracking systems.
• Provides findings to repair and test teams and escalates unresolved or unusual failures to engineers.
• Assists engineers with identifying failure trends, supporting root cause investigations and validating corrective actions.
• Maintains test fixtures, reference units and analysis workstations while following ESD, 5S and applicable safety requirements.
• Responsible for meeting ISO 9001 and/or other quality system requirements in their department.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education and Training

• Associate degree in electronics, engineering technology or a related field, or equivalent coursework toward a B.S. in engineering or a related field preferred.
• One year or more of relevant experience in electronics troubleshooting, diagnostics, testing or repair.
• Basic understanding of server hardware, electronic components and power circuits.
• Basic ability to read schematics, engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with Linux/Ubuntu environments required.
• Familiarity with BIOS configuration, driver installation and software configuration required.
• Familiarity with installing approved BIOS and firmware updates according to documented procedures required.
• Ability to read basic Bash scripts and identify potential test execution issues required.
• Familiarity with diagnostic log interpretation, error codes and test results required.Familiarity with digital multimeters, microscopes and ESD practices.
• Ability to follow a structured troubleshooting process and distinguish observed evidence from assumptions.
• Email and written communication skills with basic Excel knowledge.
• Proficient English abilities required.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time-management skills.
• Ability to follow documented procedures, standards and policies.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment with general supervision.
