Server Job Responsibilities
Serves patrons by providing information to help food and beverage selections, delivers orders and refills, offering assistance in item selection. The Server is well educated with menu offerings, maintains dining ambiance and clean work areas. Delivers service in an upbeat, positive manner, learns guests’ names, suggests items, and offers assistance.
Server Job Duties
- Prepares room for dining by table set up; i.e., condiments, napkins, utensils, menus, etc.
- Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
- Provides fast friendly & professional service to all guests. Follows the Spotlight Attributes of Welcome, Upbeat and Positive, Delight the Customer, Provide a Warm Farewell and, Overall, Moment of Truth.
- Helps patrons select food and beverages by presenting the menu; offering cocktails, beer, or wine; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate alcohol pairings; answering food preparation questions.
- Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices, identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests.
- Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
- Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen, delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars. Does not call off orders, but knows which orders were placed by guests.
- Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs, observing the dining process.
- Maintains table settings by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
- Concludes the dining experience by thanking guests for visiting the restaurant; inviting patrons to return.
- Obtains revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; returning change or credit card or casino payment and signature slip to patrons.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintains clean work areas always, replenishes stocks at the end of shift, and completes end‑of‑shift duties.
- Follows outlet policies and procedures for operational flow at each side station and floor station.
- Knows and promotes customer events and programs and can provide accurate information to guests.
- Thanks guests for coming in and invites them back as guests leave their dining area.
- Arrives for scheduled shift on time, with proper attire. Uniform must be clean and pressed at all times, with name tag and badge visible.
- Shows knowledge of the daily chef and daily beer specials. Knowledge of daily sporting events and the location of sporting events on TV.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand or walk 8-10 hours at a time.
- Must be able to bend, twist, turn, squat and rotate the body.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds above the head.
- Must be able to work a fluctuating schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to continually stand and/or walk entire shift.
- Dexterity to use a computerized cash register.
