Job summary

The Harrison Group, Inc. is seeking a friendly Server for our Ocean City, NJ breakfast service. You will greet guests, take orders, deliver meals, and ensure a pleasant dining experience during the 7:00 am–12:00 pm shifts, Monday through Saturday, with Sundays 7:00 am–1:00 pm.

Responsibilities include menu guidance, accurate order handling, POS operation, and maintaining clean dining areas. Prior server experience is preferred, and applicants must be at least 16 (21 to serve alcohol).

• Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Must be well-organized and accurate in taking and placing food and beverage orders.
• Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they are seated and ensure table readiness.
• Present menus and daily specials to patrons.
• Take orders and relay to kitchen; deliver meals and beverages.
• Ensure orders are prepared correctly and to satisfaction; handle corrections.
• Clear tables and collect payments; prepare checks.
• Assist with dining area cleanliness and setup of utensils and condiments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Summary:

The Server provides table service to restaurant patrons by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that patrons have a pleasant dining experience.

The schedule will be during our breakfast shift which is Monday-Saturday 7am-12pm, Sundays 7am-1pm.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Greets customers as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensil, napkins, and other needs have been provided.
2. Distributes menus and presents the daily specials.
3. Answers questions regarding the menu.
4. Takes food and beverage orders and delivers them to the kitchen.
5. Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers.
6. Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to customers satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen.
7. Collects plates and clears the table as customers finish their meals.
8. Prepares customers checks and collects payments.
9. Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

1. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
2. Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately.
3. Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.

Education and Experience:

1. Must be at least sixteen years old (at least 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages).
2. Previous experience as a server preferred.
3. Must successfully complete restaurants training course.

Physical Requirements:

1. Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
2. Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
