POSITION SUMMARY: The Banquet Server is responsible for various aspects of banquet service, including setting up and breaking down staging areas, breaks, receptions, buffets, and plated events, as well as serving food and beverages during events. This role is key in creating an exceptional environment and delivering service that impresses our guests. Banquet Servers should continually seek opportunities to create memorable experiences by anticipating needs, exceeding expectations, and building relationships.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Be familiar with all event menu items to answer guest questions accurately.
• Set up and break down banquet staging areas.
• Prepare, replenish, and break down food stations such as coffee breaks, receptions, buffets, and plated meals.
• Follow the sequence of service for all guests.
• Serve beverages including coffee, tea, cocktails, and wine.
• Serve plated meals and passed hors d’oeuvres.
• Ensure guest satisfaction at all events.
• Accommodate guests’ special requests whenever possible.
• Maintain tables by clearing plates, glassware, silverware, and trash.
• Prepare consumption reports.
• Polish and set up china, glassware, silverware, and service items.
• Stock and manage linen supplies and discard used linens.
• Manage trash and recycling stations.
• Set up and stock condiments and side stations.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service laws and regulations.
• Check tables to ensure all necessary items are present before serving food.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper garnishing of orders before delivery.
• Maintain positive and professional communication with staff.
• Participate in meetings and training sessions.
• Create a positive environment and promote the property’s outlets.
• Assist guests with directions and resolve complaints per property procedures.
• Work as part of a team to deliver exceptional service.
• Participate in shift meetings and maintain a friendly demeanor.
• Understand and embody the company’s mission, values, and culture.
• Operate ethically to protect the Hard Rock brand.
• Perform duties in accordance with company policies and legal standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:

• Extensive knowledge of mixed drinks, beers, and wines.
• Casino food and beverage operations preferred.
• Table service procedures and etiquette.
• Valid Food Handlers Card, Liquor License, and IGC Badge when working.

Ability to:

• Move throughout the venue (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
• Perform repetitive arm, hand, and wrist movements.
• Communicate verbally and perceive sounds.
• Work with manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Lifting, pushing, pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
• Twist and turn body parts in circular motions.
• Tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and noisy environments.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma preferred; 2+ years in service preferred.
• Basic language, reading, and numerical skills.
• Patience, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with customers and staff.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• Must obtain and maintain required licenses/certifications.
• Pass background and drug screening.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
