Job summary

Coury Hospitality is seeking a Temporary Server Assistant for the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. You will support servers and hosts, keep the dining room organized, and help deliver seamless service during two major celebration nights.

This on-site, seasonal role requires quick learning, teamwork, and a strong guest-focused approach. The job emphasizes high energy during Halloween and New Year’s Eve, with tasks ranging from water service to maintaining tables, stations, and overall presentation.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant serving, server assistant, or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation and safe food-service practices.
• Ability to learn restaurant menus, service procedures, floor plans, and ordering systems quickly.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Must maintain regular attendance and punctuality and arrive in complete uniform for all scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support the Server and restaurant team by keeping the dining room organized, stocked, clean, and guest-ready while helping deliver seamless service during two of the biggest celebration nights of the year.
• Assist with food and beverage service as needed.
• Provide attentive water service and maintain water levels.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently while maintaining presentation, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Crumb tables as directed by the Server and ensure tables are guest-ready.
• Transport and sort dirty tableware from the dining room to the dish drop area.
• Keep service stations stocked and organized with silverware, linen, condiments, and supplies.
• Wipe down booths and chairs, move tables and chairs, and keep floors clean.
• Fold napkins, polish silver, replenish condiments, and maintain side stands.
• Keep dining room, waiting areas, and service areas clean and visually appealing.
• Respond promptly to guest needs and escalate concerns to the Server/Manager on duty.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and additional tasks to keep operations smooth.
• Maintain constant communication and teamwork with Servers, Hosts, Managers, and fellow Curators.
• Conduct yourself professionally at all times as part of the guest experience.

As a Temporary Server Assistant, you'll be an essential part of the team behind the experience. You'll work closely with Servers, Hosts, and the entire restaurant team to keep service flowing, tables ready, and guests taken care of throughout the night.

Your Mission

Support the Server and restaurant team by keeping the dining room organized, stocked, clean, and guest-ready while helping deliver seamless service during two of the biggest celebration nights of the year.

What You'll Do

• Support Servers and Hosts with food and beverage service as needed.


• Provide attentive water service and maintain water levels throughout the guest experience.


• Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently while maintaining company standards for presentation, safety, and sanitation.


• Crumb tables as directed by the Server and ensure tables are always guest-ready.


• Transport and properly sort dirty tableware from the dining room to the designated dish drop area.


• Keep service stations fully stocked and organized with silverware, linen, condiments, and other necessary supplies.


• Wipe down booths and chairs, move tables and chairs as needed, and keep floors and surrounding areas clean.


• Fold napkins, polish silver, replenish condiments, and maintain organized side stands throughout each shift.


• Keep the dining room, waiting areas, and service areas clean, stocked, and visually appealing.


• Respond promptly and graciously to guest needs and communicate concerns to the appropriate Server or Manager on Duty.


• Assist with special cleaning projects and additional tasks as needed to keep the operation running smoothly.


• Maintain constant communication and teamwork with Servers, Hosts, Managers, and fellow Curators.


• Conduct yourself professionally at all times, understanding that every action and interaction is part of the guest experience.
