Note: This is a tipped position. Pay is the NYC minimum for tipped employees ($11/hr. plus $5.50/hr. tip credit, when applicable) plus tips.

As a server assistant at Next Door by Wegmans, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service by supporting the front of house team. You’ll ensure seamless communication between the kitchen and servers, helping deliver orders promptly while maintaining food quality. By assisting servers and expediters, you’ll help create a flawless dining experience, ensuring every guest leaves with a reason to return.

What will I do?

• Prepare necessary items to serve guests effectively, including polishing glassware and silverware, restocking supplies, and preparing water for servers.
• Assist the server team to meet guest needs while allowing servers to focus on guest interactions.
• Deliver dishes to guests' tables promptly, maintaining food integrity and sensitivity to timing.
• Maintain a positive guest experience by attending to tables courteously and efficiently, creating an energetic and welcoming atmosphere.
• Prepare the dining room and bar areas for service, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and stock levels.
• Stay aware of front and back of house activities to provide proactive assistance.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks following checklists to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
• Study menu updates and attend beverage classes to enhance food and beverage knowledge.
• Learn about special events and overall restaurant operations to support additional tasks as needed.
