Job description

The Server Assistant with F&B 575 at Aman New York maintains all dining room environment and equipment, assists servers, anticipates guests’ needs, and addresses them accordingly.

This position has an hourly rate of $16.50 + Tips.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Check assigned station before, during, and after shift for proper setup and cleanliness.
  2. Responsible for the completion of designated side work checklists (both opening and closing).
  3. Keep dining room floors free of debris and spilled liquids.
  4. Bus and reset tables for the next guest. Drop off soiled linen for washing in the designated area.
  5. Provide excellent service to all guests.
  6. Assist guests courteously and efficiently.
  7. Maintain cleanliness of the dining room and station at all times.
  8. Keep chairs and banquettes clean and clear of debris.
  9. Handle customer requests in a timely manner.
  10. Set up side station with sugar bowls, water pitchers, bread, butter, etc., as per the side work sheet.
  11. Ensure all silverware is polished and spotless.
  12. Follow the restaurant's cleaning program as established in the side work sheet.
  13. Clear and upkeep tables between courses throughout the meal.
  14. Deliver food from kitchen to guest tables, including tray service.
  15. Assist in setting up tables according to the floor plan.
  16. Anticipate guest needs to ensure they never have to ask for anything.
  17. Attend all food and beverage training classes when requested.
  18. Wish every guest a warm farewell and thank them for coming.
  19. Be aware at all times of the type of water each guest in their station is drinking.
  20. Make coffee, tea, and hot beverages for guests.
  21. Place all to-go food in appropriate containers.
  22. Attend daily pre-meal/communication meetings.
  23. Attend monthly department meetings.
  24. Communicate with all servers and server assistants professionally.
  25. Perform all other responsibilities assigned by management.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays.
  • Be a self-motivator and motivate others.
  • Work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner.
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage preparations.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of guests and management.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards.
  • Consistently delight and satisfy guests.
  • Handle guest requests in a detailed manner.
  • TIPS and ServSafe Certified.
  • Comfortable with outdoor work and exposure to elements.
  • Ability to carry, push, and pull loads up to 50 lbs; standing, bending, and lifting required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
