Job summary

TEKsystems in Louisville, KY is seeking a Server Patching Engineer to manage proactive server patching for WINTEL environments on a full-cycle monthly cadence. The role requires coordination with business groups to schedule outages and ensure patches are deployed within established windows.

Ideal candidates have MS server experience (MCSE or equivalent) and prior work in a large enterprise. Some early morning, late night, and weekend work is expected due to maintenance windows.

• Willing to work early mornings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Research, download, test and deploy patches from Microsoft and vendors.
• Deploy patches within monthly cycles and manage patch windows.
• Mitigate issues with patches and coordinate with other teams as needed.
• Escalate issues to other LMG teams when required.
• Communicate patching activities to stakeholders during patch cycles.
• Research trends in threats and vulnerabilities to inform patching.

Description

Server Patching Engineer. This person will provide full-time proactive management on all servers and mission critical WINTEL based applications. In addition, this person will be responsible for day to day direction of the server patching activities.

Primary responsibilities will include:

Research, Download, Test and Deploy patches from Microsoft and other vendors.

Working with business groups to establish and maintain outage windows for systems.

Deploy patches within established windows on a monthly cycle.

Mitigate issues with patches if possible.

Escalate issues to other LMG teams if needed.

Communicate activities during patching.

Research trends in threats and vulnerabilities.

Experience with Manage Engine Enterprise Patch Management for Servers is desired.

MCSE or similar level Microsoft server experience is desired.

Some early morning, late night and weekend work is required.

Successful engineers who held this position in the past were very detail-oriented people who took pride in repeating the monthly processes with precision.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
