Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company, Stratton Mountain Resort, is seeking experienced servers to join the team for a seasonal role at Stratton. You will provide attentive guest service in a fast-paced environment and work as part of a collaborative team.

The position offers full-time or part-time hours with a starting wage of $8.75 per hour plus tips, and ongoing recruitment through December. Benefits include resort perks and opportunities for career growth within Alterra.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma, or equivalent.
• 1 - 3 years of serving or bartending experience.
• Cash handling and POS experience.
• Ability to lift and walk with at least 30 pounds.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Flexible work schedule that may include early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment.
• Use POS system to place orders and process payments.
• Support and contribute to all workstations.
• Understand and practice serving alcoholic beverages per Vermont law.
• Maintain a clean, safe service area per sanitation rules.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
• Coordinate with culinary team to ensure timely orders.
• Answer guests' dietary questions with care.

POSITION SUMMARY

Stratton Mountain Resort is seeking experienced servers to join the team. This position requires an individual that is a team player, possess agility, flexibility, and excellent communication skills. An individual in this role will consistently display a friendly demeanor while providing anticipatory guest service in a fast-paced environment. This is a seasonal role, with full time and part-time hours available. The position will be paid at $8.75/hr + tips.

Recruitment for this role will be ongoing through December.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Provide exceptional guest service in a fast pace changing environment
• Use POS system to place orders and process payments
• Actively supports and contributes to all workstations including but not limited to host stand, expo window, service bar, dish pit, etc.
• Understand and practice the serving of alcoholic beverages in accordance with Vermont State Liquor Laws
• Maintains a clean and presentable work environment while adhering to food safety and sanitation practices
• Executes opening and closing duties as directed
• Effectively communicates with the culinary team to ensure orders are entered and delivered in a timely manner with accuracy
• Displays menu knowledge and can confidently assist and accommodate guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions with the utmost care and concern
• Additional duties as assigned
