Job summary

Port Ludlow Resort is seeking a part-time server to ensure guests receive courteous, professional dining service. You will know our menu and wine list, take and relay orders accurately, and help the kitchen staff with guest requests while upholding our mission and values.

The role requires a current food handler’s permit (and liquor permits or the ability to obtain), at least 2 years in food service, and the ability to operate a cash register system. Weekends and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Must have current food handler’s permit and liquor permits, or ability to obtain prior to hire.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• At least 2 years prior food service experience in a similar position.
• Capable of operating the computerized cash register system.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team and independently.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Description

As a server, you are responsible for ensuring that our guests enjoy a superior dining experience by providing courteous, professional and friendly service. You are knowledgeable on the menu and wine list, and are able to accurately take orders from the guests and translate special requests and details to the kitchen staff. All tasks and interactions are done in a way that upholds the company’s mission, vision, and values.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current food handler’s permit and liquor permits or ability to obtain prior to hire
• Must be at least 18 years old
• At least 2 years prior food service experience in a similar position
• Capable of learning to operate the computerized cash register system
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team and work independently
• Excellent attention to detail
• Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time, go up and down stairs, walk, bend, reach, stoop, lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Greet guests immediately in a courteous, friendly manner
• Describe menu and beverage items and take orders in a timely fashion
• Serve guests quickly and efficiently, and clear each course from the table per service standards
• Ensure presentation of check is prompt and accurate, and payment is processed and completed accurately and efficiently
• Be knowledgeable of menu items, including drinks and specials, and provide suggestions and recommendations when needed
• Complete side work and end of shift responsibilities
• Leave the wait area clean and organized, and ensure the dining room is set and cleaned per policies
• Complete check reconciliations and bank drops completely and accurately
• Other duties as requested and assigned by your manager
