Job summary

Vespera on Pismo Beach is seeking hospitality professionals to greet guests, take food and beverage orders, and ensure accurate, timely service in a luxury resort environment.

teamwork, attentiveness, and the ability to multi-task are essential, with flexible scheduling including holidays and weekends. The role emphasizes guest satisfaction and adherence to service standards.

Qualifications

  • Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel.
  • Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently.
  • Must be able to speak and understand and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must possess excellent communication, follow up, and organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull, bend, squat, and lift on a regular basis.
  • Follow safety requirements of PPE as needed for duty assigned and with use of required tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up.
  • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
  • Follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co‑workers as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Greet the guest and take all food and beverage orders.
  • Ensure all orders are accurate with requests and substitutions.
  • Be knowledgeable of all menu items with ingredients with relation to common dietary restrictions.
  • Pre and post bus tables in assigned station.
  • Maintain a clean dining area at all times.
  • Responsible for receiving all payments accurately and timely.
  • Perform necessary opening/closing and side work duties.
  • Prepare food items for guests including appetizers, sides and desserts.
  • Assist other servers with their tables.
  • Ensure all equipment is in operation order and all supplies are up to par.
  • Report equipment that needs repair or supplies that need to be ordered.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
  • Follow 4 Keys service standards, and Marriott standards, and pride yourself and exceptional service to our guests.
  • Follow operation procedures and safety standards.
  • Follow safety and security procedures.
  • Work cohesively with co‑workers and all departments as part of a team.
  • Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve standards of operations.
  • Adhere to attendance and reliability standards.
  • Follow all additional duties as assigned by management.

Job description

Compensation is $16.90 an hour per California's minimum wage. Additional compensation can be earned through gratuity, tips, and service charges.

Work Hours
  • Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs.
  • Scheduling includes holidays, nights, and weekends depending on hotel events and functions.
