Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts’ Lofton Hotel in Minneapolis seeks a guest-focused hospitality professional to support bar and beverage service. You will take orders, deliver drinks and meals, and collaborate with the team to ensure smooth, attentive service in a vibrant downtown setting.

Must have or be able to obtain the necessary licenses, with basic food and beverage knowledge and strong English communication. This position offers competitive perks and opportunities for growth within Marcus

Qualifications

• Prior cocktail experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
• Knowledge of table settings, service ware and menu items.
• Read, speak and write English to communicate with guests.
• Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to obtain government-required licenses or certificates.

• Provide friendly, attentive and professional service to guests.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Deliver beverages and menu items with knowledge of ingredients and presentation.
• Collaborate with bartenders and support staff to ensure smooth service.

What will you be doing?

• Provide friendly, attentive and professional service to guests
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
• Deliver beverages and menu items with knowledge of ingredients and presentation
• Collaborate with bartenders and support staff to ensure smooth service
• Handle cash and POS transactions responsibly
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar area along with personal hygiene
• Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed

What do you bring to the role?

• Prior cocktail experience preferred
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items
• Ability to read, sufficient to understand menus and special promotions, speak and write the English language to communicate with the guest, and take orders
• Ability to transport large awkward trays weighing up to 40 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift
• Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate
