Job summary

Sra Coral Gables Restaurant LLC is seeking friendly, attentive servers to deliver exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced environment in Miami. You will greet guests, present menus, take orders, and coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Develop knowledge of wine pairings, daily specials, and restaurant policies while maintaining a spotless dining area and delivering friendly, professional service to guests.

Responsibilities

• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the restaurant.
• Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services
• Monitor and observe guests' dining experience to ensure satisfaction and respond promptly to problems
• Take food or beverages orders from guests
• Explain to guests how menu items are prepared, describe ingredients and cooking methods
• Inform guests of menu changes and daily specials and make recommendations
• Write guests' food orders on slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers
• Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving
• Serve food or beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required
• Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for guests, and chill bottles of wine
• Describe and recommend wines to guests
• Check guests' identification for alcohol service
• Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses and pour wines
• Perform food preparation duties such as salads, appetizers, and desserts, and brew coffee
• Remove dishes and prepare checks and collect payments
• Thank guests and invite them to return
• Clean tables or counters after guests finish dining
• Assist host by greeting, seating, and thanking guests and taking reservations
• Roll silverware and set up dining areas for next shift or large parties
• Stock service areas with supplies and linens
• Prepare tables with linens, silverware, and glassware
• Perform cleaning duties in the dining area and back-of-house
• Attend staff meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
• Coordinate with fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support operations
• Fill in for colleagues to maintain service standards

• Take food or beverages orders from guests.
• Explain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
• Inform guests of menu changes and daily specials and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
• Write guests' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmission to kitchen staff.
• Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving.
• Serve food or beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
• Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for guests, and chill bottles of wine.
• Describe and recommend wines to guests.
• Check guests' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
• Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses and pour the wines for guests.
• Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning desserts, and brewing coffee.
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
• Collect payments from guests.
• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
• Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining.
• Assist host or hostess by answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
• Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties.
• Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
• Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
• Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom.
• Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.
• Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
• Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

Supplemental:

• Provide guests with information about local areas, including giving directions.
