Job summary

Flanker Kitchen + Sports Bar in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a part-time Server for a high-volume dining destination adjacent to Mandalay Bay. You will take orders, check for allergies, and provide timely food and beverage service while maintaining a professional appearance and strong guest relations.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous server/hospitality experience.
• Experience in a high-volume restaurant/lounge.
• Must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods.
• Must be able to bend and lift to 50 lbs.
• Role may include tasks requiring repetitive motion.
• Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Employee Handbook.
• Anticipate and accommodate guests' needs while providing professional service.
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned stations and venue.
• Present menus, answer questions and suggest items.
• Inform guests of specials and prices.
• Solicit allergy or dietary restrictions from each guest.
• Enter all orders into the POS system and handle payments correctly.
• Ensure timely delivery of all food and beverages.
• Know all menus and the company well.
• Serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with state regulations and training standards.
• Adhere to health and sanitation standards.
• Complete end-of-shift financial procedures.
• Communicate guest needs to Front-of-House and Back-of-House staff.
• Set up floor and complete opening/closing procedures.
• Perform opening, closing and side-work.
• Report breakage or damage to management.
• Attend daily pre-service meetings and training opportunities.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude and work as part of a team.

Carver Road Hospitality debuts Flanker Kitchen + Sports Bar at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino on June 10, 2023. Steps from the walkway to Allegiant Stadium, the 8,445-square-foot destination is a dynamic fan, dining, and drinking experience. The menu of enhanced American classics features scratch burgers, sliders, shareable tacos, and a healthy selection of salads and bowls. A full beverage program includes signature cocktails and a vast selection of draft and bottled beer. Flanker is perfect for group dining and events with its highly customizable environments including a main dining room, bar and lounge, three private dining suites accommodating 20, 40, or 60 guests, a private 20-seat karaoke room, and a 24-seat dining patio.

Position Summary

The Server is responsible for taking orders, inquiring about food allergies, providing information about any specials and conducting a complete and timely food and beverage service while monitoring guests’ dining experience. Interacts with guests, employees and supervisor in a polite and courteous manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Employee Handbook.
• Anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guests while providing professional and exceptional service to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain general cleanliness of assigned stations and the entire venue.
• Presents menus, answers question and make suggestions for all food and beverage items.
• Informs guests of all food and beverage specials, with prices.
• Required to solicit any allergy or dietary restrictions from each guest.
• Accurately enter all orders into the POS system and follows proper cash/payment card procedures.
• Ensures the timely delivery of all food and beverage to the guests.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the company.
• Serves all alcoholic beverages in accordance with all state regulations and alcohol awareness training standards.
• Protects establishment, guests and employees by adhering to Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
• Accurately completes all end-of-shift financial procedures.
• Communicates the needs of the guests to Front-of-House and Back-of-House support staff, managers and chefs.
• Properly sets-up floor and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management.
• Performs opening, closing and side-work.
• Reports all breakage, damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management.
• Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings.
• Updates knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.
• Portrays a positive and professional attitude.
• Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all employees.
