Job summary

Kankakee Country Club is seeking a friendly server to provide superior hospitality and attentive service. You will describe daily specials, take and deliver orders, and ensure guests have a memorable dining experience.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent), Food Safety and Sanitation Training and Alcohol Awareness Training, a valid driver's license for range equipment, and reliable attendance. Compensation is $9.00 per hour plus tips.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Food Safety and Sanitation Training.
• Alcohol Awareness Training.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt attention to guests upon seating.
• Describes specials of the day to guests and answers questions regarding menu items.
• Takes food and beverage orders and delivers food to guests promptly after preparation.
• Follows up with guests to ensure satisfaction and replenishes items as needed.
• Participates in pre-shift meetings and taste tests.
• Maintains an organized workstation and completes side work duties.
• Sets up and breaks down golf stations every shift.
• Accounts for checks and cash transactions; uses the POS system.
• Follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders.
• Follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery, and general service techniques.
• Practices tray service for all food and beverage service.
• Position requires cross-training in bartending service.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Valid driver's license required for operating range balls and golf carts.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Compensation:

• Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating.
• Describes specials of the day to the guests. Answers questions regarding any menu item and offers suggestions of menu items when appropriate.
• Takes food and beverage orders from guests and delivers food to guests promptly after preparation.
• Follows up with guests to ensure satisfaction. Replenishes items as needed.
• Participates in pre-shift meetings and taste tests.
• Maintains an organized workstation and side work duties.
• Sets up and breaks down golf stations every shift.
• Accountable for checks and cash transactions. Utilizes the Point-of-Sale system.
• Follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders.
• Follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery, and general service techniques.

• Valid driver's license required (driver's license will be required when operating the picker for range balls and golf carts).

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates/Licenses:

Food Safety and Sanitation Training and Alcohol Awareness Training.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the server.
• Meets state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
• Knowledge of POS system.
