Job summary

S&L Hospitality, along with Spencer's Tavern inside of The Colonial Inn, is seeking a Server to provide table service, take orders, deliver meals, and ensure a pleasant dining experience for guests in a high-volume environment.

Ideal candidates will have previous server experience, excellent communication, and the ability to stay composed during peak hours. Shift may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and brunch.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old (age may vary by state).
• Previous server experience preferred.
• Must complete restaurant training course.
• Bartender license or certificate may be required depending on state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and ensure table cleanliness and supplies.
• Take and deliver food and beverage orders; present daily specials.
• Answer questions about the menu and assist with selections.
• Process payments and prepare checks.
• Assist with dining area upkeep and silverware preparation.
• Ensure orders are prepared correctly and resolve issues as needed.

S&L Hospitality, along with Spencer's Tavern inside of The Colonial Inn, are accepting applications for a Server who will provide table service to restaurant patrons by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that patrons have a pleasant dining experience. Ideal candidates will have previous experience, good communication skills, the ability to remain calm and professional during peak meal periods, organized, and have availability to work during the hours of business operations and demands.

Shift may include evenings, weekends, holidays and will be adding a brunch shift. More information will be provided during the interview process.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greets customers as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided.

• Distributes menus and presents the daily specials.

• Answers questions regarding the menu.

• Takes food and beverage orders and delivers them to the kitchen.

• Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers.

• Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to customers’ satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen.

• Collects plates and clears the table as customers finish their meals.

• Prepares customers’ checks and collects payments.

• Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately.

• Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.

Education and Experience:

• Must be at least eighteen years of age. State or local laws may require a higher age due to alcohol beverage service.

• Previous experience as a server preferred.

• Must successfully complete restaurant’s training course.

• Bartender license or certificate may be required depending on state, local laws.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

• Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
