Job summary

Yardbird, renowned for Southern hospitality and a legacy of award-winning cuisine, seeks a friendly Server to deliver memorable dining experiences in a high-volume setting. You will greet guests, present menus, and take orders with accuracy, while ensuring timely delivery of meals and beverages.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in upscale service, a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant alcohol service certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Food Server in a high-volume, upscale dining environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Alcohol, beer and wine service certifications (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers, Certified Beer Server, Bar Smarts, WSET, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, ensuring they feel welcomed.
• Present menus, answer questions, and provide recommendations on menu items, daily specials, and beverages.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, input them into the POS system, and communicate any special requests to the kitchen.
• Monitor tables throughout the meal to ensure satisfaction and respond to additional requests.
• Properly serves all dishes with clear and concise verbiage and places each dish properly in front of the guests.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Set up and clear tables efficiently, including removing used dishes, resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Adhere to Company policies regarding alcohol service and verify identification when necessary.
• Able to work flexible hours, including off hours, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, ensuring they feel welcomed.
• Present menus, answer questions, and provide recommendations on menu items, daily specials, and beverages.
• Ensure guests’ dining experience is enjoyable by addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, input them into the POS system, and communicate any special requests to the kitchen.
• Monitor tables throughout the meal to ensure satisfaction and respond to additional requests.
• Input all individual orders into the POS in accordance to guest position numbers and never “auctions” food upon delivery.
• Properly serves all dishes with clear and concise verbiage and places each dish properly in front of the guests.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Set up and clear tables efficiently, including removing used dishes, resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Assist with pre-service and post-service duties, such as restocking supplies and polishing glassware.
• Adhere to Company policies regarding alcohol service and verify identification when necessary.
• Able to work flexible hours, including off hours, weekends and holidays.

Preferred:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Food Server in a high volume, upscale dining environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Alcohol, beer and wine service certifications including but not limited to Court of Master Sommeliers, Certified Beer Server, Bar Smarts, WSET, etc.
