Job summary

Yardbird Group in Los Angeles is seeking a friendly server to join our award-winning dining team. You will greet guests, present menus, recommend items, take accurate orders, and deliver food and beverages promptly.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of high-volume dining experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and alcohol service certifications such as C.M.S., Beer Server, Bar Smarts, or WSET. We value hospitality, attentiveness, and strict health standards.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as a Food Server in a high volume, upscale dining environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Alcohol, beer and wine service certifications including but not limited to Court of Master Sommeliers, Certified Beer Server, Bar Smarts, WSET, etc.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, ensuring they feel welcomed.
• Present menus, answer questions, and provide recommendations on menu items, daily specials, and beverages.
• Ensure guests’ dining experience is enjoyable by addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, input them into the POS system, and communicate any special requests to the kitchen.
• Monitor tables throughout the meal to ensure satisfaction and respond to additional requests.
• Input all individual orders into the POS in accordance to guest position numbers and never “auctions” food upon delivery.
• Properly serves all dishes with clear and concise verbiage and places each dish properly in front of the guests.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Set up and clear tables efficiently, including removing used dishes, resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Assist with pre-service and post-service duties, such as restocking supplies and polishing glassware.
• Adhere to Company policies regarding alcohol service and verify identification when necessary.
• Able to work flexible hours, including off hours, weekends and holidays.
