Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a motivated Server to join our Windrose on Hudson dining team in Crotonville, NY. You will greet guests, take orders, and deliver meals with a focus on friendly service and accuracy.

The role requires knowledge of menu items, allergen awareness, and the ability to work weekends and holidays. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to create memorable guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High school education preferred; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent.
• Point of sales experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and associates.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds and frequently up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and warmly greet guests and take all food orders following the steps of service.
• Demonstrate understanding of all menu items and ingredients.
• Advise guests on combinations of food and drinks and note dietary requests.
• Demonstrate knowledge of allergen information when needed.
• Communicate with back of house to ensure correct order delivery and accommodations.
• Maintain sanitation and proper setup of dining areas before and after service.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally and address guest needs.
• Escalate complaints to supervisor and relay feedback as needed.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for a highly motivated, customer focused Server to join our team! Servers are the face of our main dining room and responsible for our customers’ experiences. Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages. This individual will need to be quick on your feet and have an engaging attitude.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room and take all food orders, when applicable, in an efficient manner, following the established steps of service.
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of all menu items and ingredients.
• As requested, advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks, accommodate reasonable requests, and note preferences.
• As needed, demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens.
• Communicate directly with back of the house staff to ensure that orders are delivered correctly, and all special requests are addressed and accommodated.
• Exhibit exceptional communication skills, ability to get along well with others, demonstrate flexibility and patience along with an interest in people and a willingness to verbally communicate with guests and staff.
• Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding any personal or medical information that is shared.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally following the established steps of service and maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
• Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests.
• Scrape food off plates.
• Promptly address and correct any complaints or issues.
• Relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.
• Ensure that the dining room/area is properly set-up prior to and after service period. Keep clean and neat while meeting all established sanitation standards.
• May be asked to operate equipment, including but not limited to fire extinguisher, telephone, iced tea/soda machine, soup well, coffee machine.
• Work alongside staff of other departments in performing job duties and for any special events or functions.
• Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
• Must be available to work weekends and Holidays as needed.

What are we looking for?
