Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a highly motivated Server for Windrose on Hudson, a Riverside Conference Experience near Croton Bay, with 248 guestrooms and over 70,000 square feet of meeting space. You will greet guests, take orders, and guide guests through menu selections while coordinating with back-of-house to ensure accurate delivery.

The role requires excellent customer service and teamwork, with weekend and holiday availability.

Qualifications

• High school education preferred or equivalent experience.
• One month of related experience or training acceptable.
• Combination of education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly in the dining room and take food and beverage orders.
• Explain menu items and ingredients; accommodate dietary preferences when possible.
• Coordinate with back-of-house to ensure correct order preparation and delivery.
• Deliver food promptly and maintain professional service standards.
• Maintain sanitation and set up of dining area before and after service periods.
• Collaborate with staff from other departments for events or special functions.
• Attend to guest inquiries and address complaints with discretion and courtesy.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for a highly motivated, customer focused Server to join our team! Servers are the face of our main dining room and responsible for our customers' experiences. Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages. This individual will need to be quick on your feet and have an engaging attitude.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room and take all food orders, when applicable, in an efficient manner, following the established steps of service.

Demonstrate a complete understanding of all menu items and ingredients. As requested, advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks, accommodate reasonable requests, and note preferences. As needed, demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens.

Communicate directly with back of the house staff to ensure that orders are delivered correctly, and all special requests are addressed and accommodated.

Exhibit exceptional communications skills, ability to get along well with others, demonstrate flexibility and patience along with and interest in people and a willingness to verbally communicate with guests and staff.

Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding any personal or medical information that is shared.

Deliver food promptly and professionally following the established steps of service and maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards. Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests.

Scrape food off plates .

Promptly address and correct any complaints or issues. Relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor .

Ensure that the dining room/area is properly set-up prior to and after service period. Keep clean and neat while meeting all established sanitation standards.

May be asked to operate equipment, including but not limited to fire extinguisher, telephone, iced tea/soda machine, soup well, coffee machine.

Work alongside staff of other departments in performing job duties and for any special events or functions.

Perform other duties and functions as assigned.

Must be available to work weekends and Holidays as needed .
