Job summary

Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment Inc is seeking a Server to provide attentive service, greet guests, input orders in the POS, and maintain high cleanliness and hospitality standards.

Salary Range: $5.50 To $5.50 Hourly

Position Description:

Service of food and/or beverage to include the order taking and delivery of any food and/or beverage items. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction.

Work performed:

• Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
• Greet the guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions for guest awareness.
• Market and properly open & serve bottle of wine
• Record the details of the order from the guests, repeating the order to the guest to check for accuracy. Input the order into the Point of Sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars in the order being placed.
• Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Market and serve upon request any dessert items or specialty coffees and after dinner drinks.
• Present the check to guest promptly and ensure correct payment.
• Attend pre-shift meeting to review/communicate information regarding service, VIG’s, specials, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisors.
• Consistent attendance at company/restaurant training programs as they are scheduled.
• Pass all tests given from any training in order to retain the knowledge needed to be an effective server.

Required Experience:

• Work efficiently as a team member.
• Complete knowledge of restaurant layout.
• Complete knowledge, skills and abilities of all menus & wine list
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation,
• Complete knowledge of service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
• Complete knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests to explain and record orders.
• Must be able to solicit wine sales, and maintain a good overall knowledge of wine.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures to pre-check order and close out the check.
• Observe all restaurant policies regarding uniform, hygiene, and grooming

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk during 8 to10 hour shifts.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to lift and carry large trays weighing up to 30 pounds through a crowded room.
• Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.

Training & Experience:

Must work well with or without direct supervision. Must be flexible to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the facility. Must be able to perform all related duties as assigned. CPR Certification, food handling certificate, and/or First Aid training preferred.
